Who We Are

The California Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA) was founded in 1912 by a small group of dedicated doctors of podiatric medicine to advocate on behalf for their patients and for high standards for their profession. These visionary doctors dedicated their new organization “to preserve the rights of the patients it serves and to seek continuous improvement in the quality of patient treatment and care.” Since its founding CPMA has served as a symbol of excellence in the specialty of podiatric medicine.

Located in California’s capital city of Sacramento, CPMA is as non-profit association dedicated to promoting public health and serving its member doctors through a comprehensive program of educational, economic, public policy, legislative, legal, and regulatory advocacy. CPMA promotes the health of the public, the profession and the individuals its serves.

CPMA also serves as a valuable resource for consumer information on podiatric medicine, the importance of good foot health and the availability of quality podiatric medical care. Learn about Podiatric Medicine
