Rare Repeat as Jensen Again Selected California Podiatric Physician of the Year

Ronald D. Jensen, DPM, of Modesto California, has once again been named California’s Podiatric Physician of the Year.

"The California Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA) Podiatric Physician of the Year recognition is presented to the California doctor of podiatric medicine (DPM) who has contributed the most to advancing the profession of podiatric medicine in California,” said CPMA President Stephen C. Wan, DPM, as he presented the Association’s 2010 Podiatric Physician of the Year Award to Dr. Jensen during the organization’s 98th Annual House of Delegates in Anaheim, California this past June. The state’s leading professional society for foot and ankle specialists, CPMA, represents podiatric physicians from California’s Oregon to Mexico borders.

A graduate of Brigham Young University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1978, Dr. Jensen earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1984, and completed his surgical residency at Circle City Hospital in Corona, California the following year.  Board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS) and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine (ABPOPPM) Dr. Jensen has been active in the podiatric medical profession on the local, state and national levels for more than twenty-five years.  After serving as president of his local chapter (the San Joaquin Podiatric Medical Society) Dr. Jensen was elected to the California Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA) Board of Directors, where he served as a Director-at-Large, Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President and President-Elect before he was elected President of the statewide organization in 1997.  In 1998, following the conclusion of his CPMA presidency, Dr. Jensen was elected to the American Podiatric Medical Association’s (APMA) Board of Trustees, where he rose quickly through its leadership ranks and in 2009 was elected President of the national organization.

Dr. Jensen is with the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation in Modesto, California.  He was first named California Podiatric Physician of the Year in 1999.  To date Dr. Jensen is the only California podiatric physician to have the distinction of receiving the prestigious award twice.
