Sock It to Me – Holiday Sock Drive

November 1st – December 1st, 2022

Socks are the #1clothing item requested by homeless shelters for those experiencing homelessness, and they are the least donated. Clean dry socks play an important role in helping protect feet, and in good foot hygiene and health.  One of the main reasons someone who is homeless goes to the emergency room is because of a foot ailment, and one of the best, simplest, and most cost-effective ways to prevent these expensive ER visits is to wear clean, dry socks on a regular basis.  

The California Podiatric Medical Association’s (CPMA) Sock It to Me - Holiday Sock Drive aims to put NEW socks on the feet of men, women and children experiencing homelessness and/or are in need.  New, clean, fresh socks can help protect feet from getting cold, wet, developing blisters, developing fungal growth or bacterial infections, which can lead to far worse medical consequences. 

Below is a directory of CPMA members’ offices where NEW socks can be donated for the homeless and those in need.  The offices are listed under CPMA’s local chapters to make it easier to locate a donation location.
