CMS Releases 2014 Medicare Fee Schedule, Confirms 24% Cut in Reimbursement Rates

A cut to Medicare payments of about 24 percent will hit physicians in 2014 if Congress does not first act to address the failed SGR (Sustainable Growth Rate) formula, the 2014 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule final rule released November 25 (which was issued later than usual as a result of the government shutdown in October) confirmed. CPMA continues to press Congress for SGR repeal this year.

Additional information about the final rule is available in a general fact sheet and a second fact sheet about the Medicare quality programs.
