2023 MIPS Exception Application Open

You can now submit your 2023 Performance Year MIPS Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances (EUC) Exception application https://tinyurl.com/mu88cnds

This exception allows providers to request reweighting for any or all performance categories if theyhaveexperiencedan extreme and uncontrollable circumstance or public health emergency (PHE), such as COVID-19, thatisoutside of their control.

Clinicians and group practices that apply for an exception will be able to avoid a MIPS penalty in 2025 based on 2023 performance. However, the exception will not be automatic. Clinicians and groups interested in obtaining one must request reweighting of one or more MIPS performance categories due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Requesting reweighting of all four MIPS performance categories will avoid a MIPS penalty in 2025.

The deadline to submit your 2023 MIPS EUC application is 8:00 p.m. EST on January 2, 2024.
